UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE DOWNTOWN GALLERY: Knoxville,Tennessee 
​Exhibition- Violins of Hope: Strings of the Holocaust

Violins of Hope exhibition invites each visitor to view, learn, and contemplate this singular collection of instruments, which survived the Holocaust. Each instrument is witness to an individually extraordinary story and ongoing legacy.

​The exhibition design was conceived as several subdued spaces within a space,
quiet rooms within a room, lit principally by ambient light emanating from surrounding exhibit cases containing instruments that can never be silenced. Visitors can enter from either a right or left passage into intimately scaled rooms. They have been designed to impart a sense of respectful dignity, encouraging engagement and reflection of the precious treasure and the music played by individual violinists on these storied instruments.

WHEELWRIGHT MUSEUM: Santa Fe, New Mexico
​Exhibition- LIT: The Work of Rose B. Simpson

LIT: The Work of Rose B. Simpson will feature new and retrospective work including
life-size clay and mixed-media sculptures, clay faces, and monumental figures.
The daughter of renowned sculptor Roxanne Swentzell (Santa Clara Pueblo) and
metal artist Patrick Simpson, Simpson uses the traditional medium of clay, combined with welded steel and leather. Textured clay surfaces and androgynous subjects
​appear throughout Simpson’s work.​

The design concept introduces the use of transparent theater scrim, thus creates varying degrees of focus for various works of art from multiple vantage points throughout the gallery. High resolution is achieved when the observer confronts each piece." - Louis Gauci, Exhibition Architect

WHEELWRIGHT MUSEUM: Santa Fe, New Mexico
​Exhibition- Old Man Looking Backward: Bob Haozous

Bob Haozous (Warm Springs Chiricahua Apache) is best known for monumental sculpture, but he works in other media as well. A group of monoprints, illustrations, and human-sized steel cutouts represent his private collection—pieces that have not been for sale—through which he tackles ideas about Native identity, cultural appropriation, and the responsibility of artists to address uncomfortable truths about contemporary life.

WHEELWRIGHT MUSEUM: Santa Fe, New Mexico
​Exhibition- Memory Weaving: Works by Melanie Yazzie

The title Memory Weaving: Works by Melanie Yazzie refers to a conversation the artist had with one of her grandmothers, a weaver, who told her she was weaving with memories in her work. The exhibition will feature over 60 works, predominantly monotypes, but also prints incorporating drawn and painted elements. Additional works will include a selection of bronze sculptures in the Klah gallery, whimsically depicting animals such as dogs. There will be a selection of acrylic paintings on canvas, as well as a selection of linoleum blocks, wood blocks, tools, and other materials intended to illuminate the artist’s practice.

Melanie's extraordinary graphics are filled with delight, humor, and wit. The installation was designed to present all her works in a comprehensive way.
